46-Year-Old AirAsia Employee Dies Onboard A Flight From KL

The flight was diverted to Johor.

On Wednesday, 24 January, a 46-year-old AirAsia staff, who was travelling on an AirAsia flight as a passenger, died onboard the flight en route to Bandung from Kuala Lumpur

During the incident, the AirAsia Flight AK416 was diverted to Senai International Airport, Johor Bahru, to get the staff immediate medical attention.

He was, however, pronounced dead by an emergency doctor on the ground.

AirAsia said that it is saddened by the death

The airline, which issued a statement, said that the 46-year-old employee's family will be provided with all necessary support during this bereavement period.

"The AirAsia family is saddened by the loss of an Allstar and extends our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased," the statement said.

A police report has been lodged on the incident by AirAsia

According to a report in NST Online, Kulai police chief Superintendent Dzulkhairi Mukhtar confirmed the police report lodged by AirAsia.

Police have classified the case as "sudden death", Dzulkhairi added.

In an assurance to its customers, AirAsia said that the safety of its guests is their utmost priority and it strives to provide as much assistance as possible in these circumstances
