53 Motorcycles And 8 Cars Destroyed In Fire At Gombak PPR

53 motorcycles and eight cars were razed in a fire that broke out at the Gombak Setia People's Housing Project (PPR) early on Monday morning, 6 July

According to Free Malaysia Today, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 5.05am this morning and quickly dispatched 24 personnel and several fire engines.

"As many as 24 firefighters were dispatched from Wangsa Maju, Gombak Selatan, and Setapak Fire and Rescue Stations to the scene," said operations officer Zaid Zainal.

The emergency response team arrived at 5.15am and were able to control the blaze under 10 minutes

"The fire happened at the parking lot of the housing area and involved 53 motorcycles and eight cars," said Zaid, as quoted by Berita Harian.

"The motorcycles were completely destroyed while the eight cars were 60% to 80% burnt."

The fire was completely put out by the firefighters at 5.47am

There were no victims reported and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
