A 16-Year-Old Girl Was Gang Raped By 5 Men In Puchong While Her Boyfriend Watched

A dinner date with her Myanmarian boyfriend turned awry for a 16-year-old girl of Subang Jaya when she was gang-raped by five men at a lake near Desa Idaman on the night of 12 November
Subang Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Ramli said the victim had gone out for a late night motorcycle ride with her boyfriend, a Myanmar national, and were looking for a place to eat in Kg Sri Aman at about 1am.
The duo then encountered five men on three motorcycles who were being chased by a patrol team. One of the motorcyclists was a friend of the victim’s boyfriend and was nicknamed “Pendek”.
At the lake, the victim alleged that Pendek, a friend of the Myanmarian, tried to feel her. In response, the young girl responded by punching him in the nose which enraged him. Pendek and the four other suspects then allegedly took turns to rape her while her boyfriend watched helplessly.
ACP Yahaya said that prior to the rape, the victim and her boyfriend were on their way back from dinner in Kampung Sri Aman Puchong.
“En route, they were followed by five men riding on three motorcycles, one of whom was the friend of the victim’s partner known by the nickname of ‘Pendek’.”
Yahaya said the four were believed to have taken turns to rape the victim for almost half an hour.
The entire incident, which occurred at a lake near a supermarket in Puchong on Nov 12, was witnessed by the victim’s boyfriend who did not interfere for fear of his safety.

Traumatised by the incident, the victim kept the incident to herself until the next day, when she informed her mother and they lodged a police report at the Subang Jaya police station. After a week of investigation, four men have been arrested by Subang police.
After a week of investigation, officers led by Asst Supt Rodney Pasla Haris raided a house in Jalan Tasik Utama 4, Sungai Besi Friday morning, where they arrested Pendek, 20, and another 18-year-old suspect who is believed to be one of the alleged gang rapists.
“An hour later, we acted on information by the suspects and detained a 17-year-old and 21-year-old from two separate locations in Taman Puchong Permai.
“All the four suspects have been remanded and are being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape,” ACP Yahaya said, adding that one of those arrested is wanted for drug charges in two districts.
Authorities are now looking for another suspect and the boyfriend for investigation into the alleged rape. If convicted, the suspects could face between five and 25 years' jail, and whipping.
Yahaya said police are still tracking the victim’s boyfriend, a Myanmar national and other suspects to assist investigation.
“We are also still searching for the victim’s boyfriend who has disappeared after the rape incident.”
