An Indonesian man stabbed a 28-year-old woman to death whom he knew for two months after she rejected his sexual advances

According to NST Online, the man, identified as Untung, stabbed the woman in the chest following an argument at the Masjid Al-Husna parking lot at 10.18pm last night.

After stabbing the woman, the man then stabbed himself in the stomach before drinking a liquid, believed to be poison, from a bottle he had brought along with him.

However, in the incident that happened at a parking lot of the mosque in Sungai Way, the jilted man's attempt to kill himself too didn't materialise.

Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said that while the woman died at the scene, the culprit's bid to commit suicide failed

The victim and the attacker, both Indonesians, were said to have been going out for the past two months, during which the man had apparently spent money on her.

"However, he came into financial difficulty recently and was unable to spend for her. The woman rejected his attempts to have sex, which incurred the man's wrath. He then attacked her," ACP Mohd Zani was quoted as saying by NST Online.

After police was alerted to the incident, both of them were rushed to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre at 1.50am, 23 December

The man has since been arrested.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
