On 2 November, three people, including two children, died in an accident at Jalan Lama Kota Bharu, Gopeng

According to New Straits Times, the victims have been identified as Hafize Nizam Ali Supian, 30, and his two sons, nine-year-old Mohammad Afeef Rafiqie and six-year-old Arrian Nuh.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said they received a distress call at 10.28pm before sending firemen from Gopeng and Kampar to the scene.

The lorry was heading to Melaka after being loaded with cement at a factory in Gopeng

Kampar district police chief Supt Hasron Nazri Hashim said initial investigations found that the driver lost control of the lorry at a steep, narrow road, causing it to hit a utility pole and turn upside down.

He added that the lorry and the roadside were laden with cement, with the victims pinned to their seats.

The rescue team used a crane and an excavator to extract the bodies

The whole operation lasted five hours and ended at 2.19am today, 3 November.

According to Bernama, the bodies were sent to Kampar Hospital and post-mortems revealed that they died due to multiple traumatic injuries.
