Penang Man Sets His Family Home On Fire Because He Was Hungry
The mother alerted her husband after she saw her son setting fire to the house.

On 22 July, a man in Penang set his family house on fire because he was angry about not having any food to eat
The suspect's father was able to extinguish the fire before it spread and immediately called the police.
According to Bernama, the incident took place at 4pm in Kampung Selamat, Penang.
The suspect reportedly poured petrol all over a wall of his house before starting the fire with a lighter
According to Seberang Perai Utara Police Chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor, the suspect got hold of the petrol from his father's motorbike.
"His mum noticed what he was doing and woke his father up from his nap in time to put out the fire,” said Noorzainy.
The police found a rubber hose with burn marks and a jug with traces of petrol at the scene, believing the suspect used them to start the fire.
The suspect has been remanded for four days after his urine test detected drugs
Noorzainy revealed that the suspect's parents previously reported him to the police on two occasions when he kept losing his temper ever since he was released from prison.
The suspect will be investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire.
