A Teen Girl Beats Up Her Alleged Harasser Inside Police Station While The Cops Watch

A video of a schoolgirl using punches, kicks, slaps, and even one of her shoes to beat up a boy who used to continuously harass her has gone viral in India.
According to local news outlets, the video was shot by a cop inside the police station and is of an incident that took place in UP, India.
In fact, one of the police personnel there seemed to be egging the girl to start beating the boy. During the start of the video, one person, apparently a cop, from behind the camera is heard saying, "chal beta, maar" (come child, beat). One of the police officers, visible in the video, can also be seen laughing as the girl beats up the boy.
The video shows her demanding an apology while beating the guy. The person filming the video can be heard asking the boy to turn his face toward the camera. In the background of the video, multiple men can be heard shouting instructions to both the girl and boy in the video, and asking the alleged harasser, "Gaali kyun deta hai?" (Why do you abuse?). The incident took place on 3rd July.

The girl stopped Ankit Rajput's motorcycle on Sunday by blocking the way with her bicycle in front of Puranpur police station and dragged him inside the premises, police said. Though the police let the youth off with an apology as no complaint was made from the girl's side, superintendent of police JK Shahi has ordered an inquiry.

The girl, a student of class 11, told NewsX, in a video that has since been deleted, that the boy would harass her and her friends every day on their way from school by shouting vulgar abuses at them
“He would always shout insults at us, but we would always remain calm. When his abuse got too vulgar and we couldn’t tolerate it anymore, we decided to take action,” she said in Hindi.
“I stopped my cycle in front of his bike, took his bike keys, grabbed him by the collar, and gave him to the police. The police sealed his bike and locked him up,” she said.
“Then I told my father, ‘I want to go beat him,’” she continued. “So my father came with me and I hit him. I hit him a lot. The man in charge of the police station – Siddharth Goswami – made a video.”
When asked about the video by a BuzzFeed reporter, Puranpur police Circle Officer Rajeshwar Singh denied that any police staff had filmed it. He said it was taken on a cell phone by a reporter who happened to be at the police station at the time.

Singh said that the girl and her alleged harasser are both juveniles and neither party pressed charges or filed an official complaint. He told BuzzFeed that settling complaints in this manner without filing official reports is common in rural areas.
“I don’t want him to go to jail and I don’t want an FIR,” the teenage girl said to NewsX. “I wanted him to learn a lesson so that what happened to me today won’t happen to any other girl tomorrow.”
