A 25-year-old American female tourist was abducted, robbed and then raped by her taxi driver and possibly 14 other men on 11 March 2013 at around 6pm. The lady reportedly boarded the taxi at 'a mall' in Mutiara Damansara, and was raped and left bounded after her belongings were taken. The police are investigating the matter. A taxi driver, who was charged with raping an American woman on Wednesday, is now charged with kidnapping a Korean student.

S. Prakash Kumar, 38, and car wash worker Joseph Aaron, 26, were jointly charged with kidnapping a 15-year-old Korean student with intent to obtain RM40,000 ransom at about 4.30pm on Feb 12.

Prakash and Joseph Aaron were later taken to a Sessions Court where they claimed trial to three counts of robbing three victims of their valuables and cash.

They were accused of robbing one Yew Lioh Wen, 24, of RM11, identity card and a handphone in Jalan Petaling at about 8am on Feb 4.

They also were charged with robbing Ruqiya Abdul Hussein of her jewellery and RM5,600 cash Jalan Bukit Desa, Taman Desa here at about 6pm on Feb 7.

In the third charge, they were accused of robbing Fung Yizhen, 24, of RM3,800 at Pantai Hillpark condominium at about 10.43pm on March 9.

Taxi driver claim trial for raping American teacher

S. Prakash Kumar, 39, claimed trial to raping the 24-year-old woman in a room at the Lakeside Villa homestay in Taman Pantai Sepang Putra, Sungai Pelek, Sepang about 1am on March 12, this year.

Prakash Kumar Subramanian was charged with raping 25 year Stephanie Jensen, at Villa Lakeside Homestay in Sepang, on March 11.

Prakash, 38, was accused of raping the 24-year-old American woman in a room at Lakeside Villa Homestay, Taman Pantai Sepang Putra, Sg Pelek here at about 1am on March 12.

Prakash also pleaded not guilty to committing robbery of RM300 and a handphone by using a knife infront of The Curve,Damansara here at about 6pm on March 11.

In asking for a lower bail, Prakash who was unrepresented said that his wife was not working and is supporting his only child.

In another Sessions Court, scrap metal collector R. Muthu, 46, and car wash worker A.P. Joseph Aaron, 26, also claimed trial to robbing the American woman.

Police detained 'Cabbie gang' in jail

Even as police released photographs A. Joseph and the mastermind to the media two weeks ago, the duo daringly preyed on another female victim in Bangsar.

Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said it was not known immediately if the gang had more members.

Selangor and city police have now intensified the hunt for A. Joseph, in his 30s, who terrorised women passengers with the mastermind of the gang who was nabbed in Sepang yesterday morning.

Seven suspects held, police believe case solved

Selangor police believe they have solved the case of the rape and robbery of an American schoolteacher, with the arrest of five more suspects early today.

Lima suspek — tiga lelaki dan dua wanita — berumur antara 28 dan 39 tahun itu ditahan secara berasingan di dua buah rumah di Kajang pada kira-kira 6.30 pagi.

A knife and six handphones were seized from the suspects aged between 28 and 39.

Second suspect arrested on 14 March 2013

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the man, in his 20s, was picked up at a house in Balakong around 8.30pm on Thursday.

"We believe the suspect can assist in our investigations into the matter," he said when contacted Friday. This brings the number of suspects arrested in connection with the case to two.

The suspect was picked up at about 5am at his home in Jalan Klang Lama on Wednesday and remanded until March 19 to help in the investigations.

Taxi drivers advice to ride call taxis instead

Paying an extra RM2 to call for a taxi by phone rather than flagging one could ensure your safety, especially for women passengers.

Be more vigilant when you board taxis. Take note of the vehicle registration number, driver's permits, taxi license and drivers face.

He also advised passengers to always inspect whether the driver had a taxi licence and not to get into one if it was not displayed.

47-year-old man detained for investigations

A 47-year-old man has been detained in connection with the robbery and rape of an American teacher. The suspect was picked up at about 5am at his home in Jalan Klang Lama on Wednesday.

US tourist believed raped by bogus cabbies

An American tourist could possibly be the latest victim of two bogus taxi drivers who are said to be responsible for at least 13 cases of assault and robbery targetting female passengers.

The taxi driver was accompanied by another man and, along the way, they stopped to pick up a third person.

What happened when the woman boarded the taxi

An American woman who boarded a taxi at Mutiara Damansara here was abducted, robbed and gang raped by three men on Monday.

The taxi driver, who already had one passenger sitting in the front passenger seat, picked up the woman.

It is learnt that her assailants fetched another accomplice along the way before taking the victim to an undisclosed location in Sungai Pelek, Sepang.

Shortly afterwards, a van came by and the teacher was told to go into a van which would take her home. However, the victim was taken to a house where she was raped by one of the men.

The two abductors wasted no time in taking turns raping the woman. Hours later, the assailants fled leaving her at the place with her limbs bound.

The 25-year-old American tourist boarded a taxi in a mall in Mutiara Damansara, and was taken to Sungai Pelek, Sepang. On the way, she was raped and robbed.

One man acts as a taxi driver and pick up passengers. Once the victim had boarded the taxi, the man would give excuses to stop at a spot where an accomplice would be waiting.

The woman's intended destination was unknown. It is learnt that her assailants fetched another accomplice along the way before taking the victim to an undisclosed location in Sungai Pelek, Sepang.

Woman escapes and is helped by passers-by

SAC Mohd Adnan said the van driver helped the victim to escape the next day. She boarded a bus to Sungai Pelek, Sepang and lodged a police report.

Early on Tuesday, the woman managed to free herself and sought help from passers-by who called the police. She was sent for a medical examination and her condition is unknown.

Hours later, the assailants fled leaving her at the place with her limbs bound.

One man arrested so far, investigations continue

The police however, arrested a man on Wednesday morning, based on the information provided by the victim. They identified the suspect, and nabbed him in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

The suspected taxi is a Proton Iswara with the car plate number HWB 9710. Polices believe the car plate has been changed before this incident happens. Share this now.

“We have arrested one man so far and investigations are still on-going. “We hope to detain the second suspect soon,” he said.
