Autopsy Results On Johor Woman Shot Dead In Her Sleep By Husband Reveals Other Injuries

Autopsy results on a 38-year-old woman who was murdered in her sleep by her 43-year-old husband on Monday, 1 March, has revealed other injuries and bruises in several parts of the victim's body
According to Johor Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Senior ACP Datuk Md Yusof Ahmad, preliminary reports of the autopsy revealed bruises on the victim's body.
He said police were still waiting for the full autopsy report to be released by the hospital.
The woman was shot dead by her husband with an air rifle at their home in Kota Tinggi.
In the autopsy, several metal fragments were detected
Md Yusof said that the metal fragments are believed to be pellets from the air rifle on several parts of the victim's body including her chest and abdomen area.
She was believed to have been shot at close range.
"The hospital will also take deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples from the victim's family as they were unable to identify the woman due to the condition of the remains," he added.
On Friday, 5 March, Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay shared that the murder took place after 2am following an argument between the couple, during which the wife had asked for a divorce
The 43-year-old suspect allegedly shot his wife when she was sleeping later. He then wrapped the victim in a blanket before placing the body in a blue plastic barrel that was dumped at an open field nearby.
She was found stuffed in the water drum and buried in a lemongrass field in Bandar Penawar.
