Bandar Tun Razak UMNO Leader Was Arrested At A Jalan Imbi Nightclub For Drug Use

He tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamines.

Yesterday, 2 April, Bandar Tun Razak UMNO leader Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar was arrested at Club De Vegas in Jalan Imbi after he tested positive for drug use

New Straits Times (NST) reported that a raid was conducted by the City Criminal Investigation Department and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission after they received information that the nightclub was operating without a license.

Blogger and UMNO member Datuk Zaharin Mohd Yasin confirmed in a Facebook post that the raid was conducted at Club De Vegas, Jalan Imbi in Kuala Lumpur.

12 people were detained by the police during the raid, where 10 of them tested positive for drug use

According to NST, the 12 people include eight men, two Malaysian women, and two Indonesian womenChina Press and Malay Mail Online (MMO) reported that the politician detained during the raid was Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar.

Although 10 of them tested positive for drug use, Zaharin claimed that police did not find any narcotic drugs in the karaoke room they were detained at.

Furthermore, Rizalman was also quoted by MMO as saying that he did not take drugs.

"There were no illegal substances contrary to what is being claimed, and the police were just doing checks before I was released," he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952

Bukit Aman Narcotic Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh confirmed the investigation.

The 10 people were handed over to the Dang Wangi police headquarters Narcotic Investigation Department for further action.

Zaharin also wrote that leaders of Bandar Tun Razak UMNO will be meeting with Rizalman to decide on his position in the organisation.
