Barisan Nasional's Federal Territories division has promised to provide mass weddings for up to 100 couples every year, as revealed in its GE14 manifesto yesterday, 22 April
The manifesto was unveiled by BN FT chairman Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor at the Putra World Trade Centre.
Tengku Adnan, who will be contesting to retain his seat in Putrajaya, was met with loud applause when he announced the free wedding initiative during the launch
Building on the theme "Aspirasi Rakyat, Agenda Kami" (The People's Aspiration, Our Agenda), other promises in the manifesto include jobs for 100,000 youths, providing RM10 million in education funds for Federal Territories residents, and building more than 200,000 units of affordable housing
For the River of Life regeneration project, BN also promised to provide a water taxi service and adding 30km of covered pedestrian walkways around the city
The River of Life (ROL) project was initiated in 2011 to restore the eight major rivers in the Klang Valley, including the Klang and Gombak rivers in the city, to transform them into rivers with economic and commercial value.
