BN Slapped With RM10,000 Fine For Violating SOPs Against Hosting Social Events
The fine against BN comes after MUDA had voiced out against the alleged "double standard" as they were slapped with a fine of RM4,000 for holding a press conference.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has slapped Barisan Nasional (BN) with a RM10,000 fine for breaching COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre last night, 27 October
According to MOH, the compound was issued by the Kepong Health Office against the ruling coalition under Act 342 for violating event organising SOP under Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
BN had held an election machinery launch party for the Melaka state poll yesterday night.
The fine against BN comes after the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) had voiced out against the alleged "double standard" as they were slapped with a fine of RM4,000 for holding a press conference
The fine against MUDA was issued to its secretary-general Amira Aisya, who had pointed out that Najib Razak and BN have yet to receive similar fines, according to Malay Mail.
According to Amira, the authorities had given the party permission to hold the press conference.
Meanwhile, MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman took to Twitter to share a clip from the BN event to question the fine and alleged double standard in enforcement.
Syed Saddiq claimed that unlike BN, MUDA's event had only five people.
