Bolt Has Launched In Malaysia With Up To 50% Off Rides For Select Users
Yay, more options.
Great news — Bolt has officially arrived in Malaysia!
The European ride-hailing platform has launched in the Klang Valley, introducing a new, affordable option for local riders.
Known for its budget-friendly services, Bolt aims to offer a cost-effective alternative.
To celebrate its entry into Malaysia, Bolt is providing an introductory discount of up to 50% for select users
SAYS did a quick check on the app and found that these discounts are available for up to 20 rides, capped at RM15 off per ride, with an expiration date.
Additionally, Lowyat.NET notes that some new and existing users are eligible for a 20% discount on rides.
In Malaysia, the number of users in the ride-hailing market is expected to reach 11.47 million by 2029
Bolt's mission is to make urban mobility accessible, affordable, and sustainable.
"Our goal is to build cities for people, not cars," said Bolt Malaysia's general manager, Afzan Lutfi, in a press statement to SAYS.
He explained that Bolt's presence in Malaysia is focused on reducing congestion and encouraging shared mobility over private car ownership.
Bolt is a global shared mobility platform that provides ride-hailing, scooter and e-bike sharing, food and grocery delivery, and car rental services in over 600 cities across 50 countries
In Klang Valley, Bolt currently provides only its ride-hailing service. However, globally, its offerings include:
- Scooter and e-bike sharing
- Bolt Food: restaurant delivery
- Bolt Market: quick grocery delivery
- Bolt Drive: car rentals
- Bolt Business: a corporate mobility solution
