A teenager from China has gone to desperate lengths by selling herself on social media in order to raise money for her sick mum’s cancer treatment
Cao Mengyuan posted an advertisement for herself on the popular social media platform WeChat.
Image via QQIn a post on social media platform WeChat, 19-year-old Cao Mengyuan shared that her mother, who had been a farmer all her life, was admitted to Gaozhou People’s Hospital for nearly a week. Her condition was reportedly worsening.
The Daily Mail added that Cao’s story was verified by Huang Qiliang, founder of Chinese charity organisation Gong Yi Pai Ke.
Cao's mother had been diagnosed with skin cancer and the treatment would cost around 350,000 Yuan (RM218,764)
In the post, Cao said whoever offered the highest price would win the right to "use her body at will"
“I wish that a kind-hearted person could buy me, so my mother can undergo the operation. After the transaction, I am willing to work at the will of the buyer in return. I will do whatever the buyer asked me to do."
“I never go back on my word," said the 19-year-old.

She earned less than 1,000 Yuan (RM623) every month to support her family members, including her elderly father and young siblings.
A generous donor had responded to the advertisement and agreed to help Cao cover her mother's medical bills. However, it is unknown what the donor intends to do with Cao.
