A couple, aged 56 and 58, has been given the death penalty for starving their 26-year-old maid to death.

Fong Kong Meng, 58, and housewife Teoh Ching Yen, 56, were found guilty of murdering Isti Komariah, 26, at house No. 90, Jalan SS 2/6, Sea Park in Petaling Jaya near here between May 14, 2010 and June 5, 2011.

The judge also noted that the victim's weight had deteriorated to 26 kg at the time of her death, from 46 kg when she first started working for the couple.
