Fong Kong Meng, 58, and housewife Teoh Ching Yen, 56, were found guilty of murdering Isti Komariah, 26, at house No. 90, Jalan SS 2/6, Sea Park in Petaling Jaya near here between May 14, 2010 and June 5, 2011.

The 26-Year-Old Indonesian Died Of Starvation After She Was Consistently Refused Food And Medical Treatment
Justice Datuk Noor Azian Shaari in her judgement said the victim died of starvation as a result of the couple's failure to provide her food and medical treatment.

The judge also noted that the victim's weight had deteriorated to 26 kg at the time of her death, from 46 kg when she first started working for the couple.

It was reported in the press that the maid from East Java who started working for the couple in December 2008 was brought by her employers to the University of Malaya medical centre at Petaling Jaya on June 6, 2011 but died upon arrival at the hospital.

She Was Also Found With Bruises And Scratch Marks On Her Back, Arms And Forehead
"She was 26 and weighed barely 26kg when she was taken to the University Malaya Medical Centre with bruises and scratch marks on her back, arms and forehead," The Star newspaper reported.

The case was brought to court shortly after Malaysia and Indonesia signed an agreement to improve the condition of Indonesian maids in the country.
The Trial Started On 30 July 2012. The Couple Had Pleaded Not Guilty.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Nordin Ismail, Suzana Abdul Latif and Muhammad Asyraf Md.Kamal represented the prosecution while counsel Zaleha Al-Hayat and Thong Seng Kong defended the couple.
