Elderly COVID-19 Patient In Sabah Fell To Her Death While Receiving Treatment At Hospital
The patient was confirmed to be free from COVID-19 and was scheduled to be discharged today.
A woman in Sabah recently fell to her death while receiving treatment for COVID-19 at a hospital
Berita Harian reported that the 63-year-old fell from a building at Queen Elizabeth Hospital around 9.15pm last night, 21 October.
The deceased was admitted to the hospital on 13 October after she tested positive for the coronavirus disease
Kota Kinabalu district police chief ACP Habibi Majinji told Harian Metro that the authorities were alerted around 9.30pm.
He said that after receiving treatment, the patient was confirmed to be free from COVID-19 and she was scheduled to be discharged today.
The body is currently placed at the forensic department of the hospital
Habibi said, "Police are carrying out an investigation to identify the reason behind the suicide as well as look for witnesses at the scene."
He then explained that as of now, the case has been classified as sudden death and members of the public with any information regarding the victim are urged to come forward to assist with investigations.
