A 65-year-old woman, riding pillion with her daughter, was killed in a snatch theft attempt after she fell off the motorcycle when it was kicked by one of two snatch thieves in Jalan Haji Mohd Said here.

She Worked As A Cleaner At A Bank Here

65-year-old Jamariah Ahir was a cleaner at a bank here. She was on the way home to Sikamat with her daughter, Norain Mohd Yusof.

Jamariah, who suffered injuries on the hands, ribs and knees, died at the scene while Norain was treated for minor injuries at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital here.

One Of The Thieves Kicked The Motorcycle As Jamariah And Her Daughter Tried To Stave Off The Theft

Witnesses said two men, also on a motorcycle, had attempted to snatch Jamariah’s bag but she refused to let go, holding on tightly to her daughter.

The thief, who was riding pillion became angry and kicked the motorcycle, causing both the women to fall onto the road.

The Police Is Investigating The Case As Murder

Deputy district police chief Superintendent Baharudin Mustafa said police had classified the case as murder. "We will check closed-circuit television cameras in the Seremban town areas to help us with the investigation," he said.
