Father Hopes To Sell His BMW To Pay For 16-Year-Old Son's Cancer Treatment
The father said he is willing to let go of his beloved BMW E39 for RM18,000.
A father from Kulai, Johor, has taken to social media to sell his car, a BMW E39, to urgently raise funds for his son's cancer treatment
In a Facebook post, Erwan Shah Mohd Asen said he is forced to part with his beloved car, which is still in good condition, to pay for his son's treatment before the cancer spreads.
"It's a model E39, and the car ownership that's under my name can be changed. The selling price is RM18,000," he wrote.
In an interview with Harian Metro, the father shared that his 16-year-old son, Muhammad Adif Zafran, was diagnosed with stage one intestinal cancer.
The money, the father of three said, will help pay for his eldest son's chemotherapy, which is estimated to cost over RM50,000
The 43-year-old mechanic confessed that he posted about selling his car on social media because he needs the cash quickly.
"I've had the car for almost five years now, but I hardly use it except for long distance trips," he told Harian Metro.
"I bought it for over RM30,000, but now I'm selling the car for RM18,000 because the doctors are asking me to prepare some money for the chemotherapy, which is estimated to go beyond RM50,000," he said.
Erwan shared that he is still looking for a serious buyer, despite receiving many private messages expressing interest
He added that many people have also offered to simply donate cash to him without anything in return, for which he is thankful, but emphasised is not the intent of his public Facebook post.
"I didn't want to ask online, but if I didn't try, I wouldn't know. Selling the car is my only solution because my monthly income is not consistent, and I still have to pay the rent and support my family," he said.
Erwan added that Adif is currently warded in Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru after recently suffering from a stroke at home.
