Finance Minister: BPN 2.0 Payouts Will Take At Least 1 Week To Be Credited
The government initially announced that the cash aid would be deposited into recipients' bank accounts starting 21 January.
Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul just announced that the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional 2.0 (BPN 2.0) payouts require at least one week to be credited in the bank accounts of all recipients
He addressed the issue in a live press conference today, 27 January, while presenting the 38th Implementation and Coordination Unit Between National Agencies (LAKSANA) report.
He urged recipients to wait patiently as the payout involves a large sum and needs at least a week before it could reflect in everyone's bank accounts.
Initially, the government announced that B40 and M40 Malaysians were to receive the cash aid starting 21 January
He said, "I would like to share that between 21 and 24 January, as many as 6.4 million accounts have received BPN 2.0 payouts and between 25 and 29 January, 3.8 million accounts are receiving or will receive the money."
"Besides that, starting 25 January, about 750,000 recipients without bank accounts have claimed the cash aid at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches in Peninsular Malaysia."
