On 30 July, four men robbed a goldsmith shop at a hypermarket in Bangi, fleeing with jewellery worth RM700,000

The incident reportedly took place at around 8.45pm in Bandar Seri Putra, Bangi.

According to Kajang District Police deputy chief Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah, all four robbers wore crash helmets. One of them carried what seemed like a pistol while another had a hammer with him.

There were three employees and six customers at the shop, one of which was a child when the incident occurred

According to Coconuts KL, one of the robbers had pointed the gun at the security guard who was "crippled with fear".

It is reported that none of them were injured during the incident.

Based on the CCTV recording, it only took five minutes for the three robbers to rob the shop while the fourth waited outside

“All the men were seen using the main entrance to get in and out of the hypermarket,” said Sabri as reported by Malay Mail.

Police advised that civilians with any information on the robbery should contact the investigating officer at 019-2714100.

The case is now under investigation as an armed robbery under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code.
