#GE15: 58% Turnout Rate As Of 2pm, 3% Lower Than The Last Election

The voter turnout rate as of 2pm today, 19 November, is 58%, announced the Election Commission (EC) in a tweet

The 15th General Election (GE15) has some 21.1 million Malaysians eligible to cast their ballots as compared to 14.9 million registered voters in GE14.

Based on the figure, about 12.2 million Malaysians have come out to vote so far.

Compared to the last general election, the voter turnout rate was at 61% as of 2pm on 9 May 2018

The total turnout rate in GE14 was 82.32% with 12,299,514 voters, reported New Straits Times.

In terms of comparison, at 58% as of 2pm, voter turnout for GE15 is equivalent to the total turnout for GE14.
