A newly married man picked the worst possible time to forget his blushing bride at a filthy gas station on the way back from their honeymoon!

He drove off without her and didn't even notice her absence for over 2 hours
The couple was driving from France back to their home in Germany on Thursday when they stopped at a gas station near Bad Hersfeld.

It was after his kids informed him that he called police and returned to the gas station, where she was waiting for him
The Local revealed on Friday that when the man’s children tipped him off that his new wife was missing, at which point he pulled over to call police. Officers said she was waiting patiently at the motorway service station.
The error was blamed on the fact she had been sleeping in the back of the couple's van, as they drove home to Berlin from France. And she hadn't told her hubby she was going to use the petrol station toilet.

"My first reaction was: is he stupid?" the 33-year-old bride recalled on private radio station FFH about being left stranded by the side of the Autobahn highway. "I had no money and no telephone with me."

The wife told the radio station she didn't hold a grudge. "I'm not angry with my husband," she said. "He didn't mean it."
