YAPEIM Suspends Director-General For Allegedly Threatening Staff Who Were Pakatan Voters
Abibullah Samsudin, director-general of YAPEIM was allegedly heard telling staff that he would check their votes one by one.
The Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM) has now suspended its director-general (D-G) Abibullah Samsudin over allegations that he threatened employees who were pro-Pakatan Harapan (PH) before GE14, warning them that he would check their votes
NST Online reported YAPEIM Board of Trustees chairman Dr Mohd Daud Bakar saying that the suspension was to allow a thorough investigation into the alleged misconduct.
"During the suspension period, the investigation committee will ask him to give his statement and assist in the investigation into his alleged misconduct," he said.
Daud said that a senior YAPEIM director, Parihah Hasan, will be appointed as acting D-G during Abibullah's suspension
"She is a senior director from Yapeim’s Strategic Management Department and is an International Islamic University Graduate who holds a degree in accounting," he added.
The suspension comes after PKR Communication director Fahmi Fadzil lodged a police report on 18 May, against Abibullah, who was heard telling the staff that he would check their votes "one by one"
"I know there are those among you who choose Pakatan Harapan.
"Yes, it is secret, but I will check one by one. I will go to the Election Commission... and I will check one by one where you voted and who you voted for.
"If you vote for Pakatan Harapan, you are not qualified to work in Yapeim. Go find work with DAP," Abibullah was heard saying in the viral video.
