[BREAKING] GRS Has Chosen Hajiji Mohd Noor As Sabah's New Chief Minister

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has chosen Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as the candidate for the Sabah Chief Minister post

In a joint press conference held by Hajiji and Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin today, 28 September, they said that the Sulaman assemblyman will be sworn in at the Sabah State Palace at 10.30am tomorrow, 29 September.

"We will fulfill the responsibility and mandate of the people as best as we can," Astro Awani quoted GRS as saying.

"I thank the people of Sabah for choosing a leader from GRS."

The announcement has put an end to speculation of who will take the top post after the coalition won the state election on Saturday, 26 September

According to The Star, Hajiji is a popular and well-liked leader in his district, known to the locals as 'Mr Nice Guy'.

He had previously served as state minister under Tan Sri Musa Aman's administration.

The 65-year-old is also the chief of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), which is a member party of GRS together with Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), and allied member Parti Progresif Sabah (SAPP).

He is expected to be sworn in by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at the state palace in Kota Kinabalu tomorrow.

GRS - which is made up of PBS, Perikatan Nasional, and Barisan Nasional - won the Sabah State Election with 38 seats:
