Hainan Airlines' New Cabin Crew Uniforms Look Like They're Fresh Off The Runway!
"High fashion!"
The collection was created by designer Laurence Xu, who went through 1,000 design blueprints
The design which was done as a collaboration with designer Laurence Xu, had taken two years to finish.
A statement from the airline said that "During the design process, Hainan Airlines and Laurence Xu met and talked frequently, going through more than 1,000 design blueprints and trying out more than one hundred samples of garments and accessories."
The uniforms are a blend of the traditional Cheongsam and a modern Western style
The Cheongsam features traditional Chinese imagery such as clouds and waves while the coats they wear have a crisp mandarin collar.
"We are not only creating a new uniform but also showing the internationalised image of our airline. Especially on international routes, we would like to let passengers know that China is modern and trendy,” said Xu Fei, brand director of Hainan Airlines.
They made their debut at Paris Couture Week!
The uniforms were appreciated for how they managed to combine elements of classical and Oriental aesthetics with the silhouette of a modern Western suit.
They were introduced during The 2017 Laurence Xu Haute Couture Show, an event highlighting the designer's best work.
