The new logo for 'Visit Malaysia 2020' was launched on Friday at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2018 at Chiang Mai, Thailand

Featuring caricaturish sketches of an orangutan hugging a proboscis monkey alongside a turtle on a beach, all wearing sunglasses, the logo's text incorporates the Petronas Twin Towers

The new logo tries to portray Malaysia's treasured flora and fauna, with a tagline "Travel, Enjoy, Respect", which Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said is in line with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation's aspirations.

However, the new 'Visit Malaysia 2020' logo has riled up a lot of Malaysians. They criticised it for how poorly it has been designed.

The fact that the logo appears to carry different font sizes doesn't help either

While Nazri did not say who designed the new logo, a graphic designer tweeted a six-panel comic strip that mockingly showed that the Minister must have hired a child for the job:
