A woman in Kuala Terengganu, who spent six years caring for her bedridden husband following a car accident, has revealed that he divorced her after his recovery and married another woman

According to the woman, she and her ex-husband married in 2016. For two years, they were in a long-distance marriage until the accident left him paralysed, and she became his primary caregiver.

While caring for him, the woman began documenting her daily life and sharing it on Facebook.

Her routine, which involved feeding him milk four times a day through a nasogastric tube, changing his diapers, and helping him bathe, earned her thousands of followers on her public account.

Reflecting on her time as his caretaker, she said, "I was terribly scared whenever he coughed. I did rehabilitation exercises with him every day, and my family came to help every day so that I could rest."

Her posts resonated with many, who admired her devotion. However, she shocked her followers when she announced that after all her care and support, her husband had divorced her and married another woman.

The ex-husband remarried just a week after the divorce.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, she congratulated her ex-husband and his new wife, writing, "Congratulations to my husband, I hope you are happy with the one you chose."

She also asked his new wife to "please take good care of him like I did. I am done with him, now it is your turn to take over."

The news of their divorce, finalised on 4 October 2024, sparked outrage among her followers.

Many expressed disbelief, questioning how someone could repay years of dedication by abandoning her after she stood by him through such a difficult time.

In a follow-up Facebook post, the woman urged her followers not to harass her ex-husband or his new wife, stating that they had agreed to continue co-parenting their daughter.

"I feel like he had fulfilled his responsibilities well," she said, calling for the criticism to stop.

However, her fans remained unconvinced and continued to criticise the ex-husband.
