IGP Retaliates By Ordering Investigation Against Tony Pua After The MP Calls Him A "Thug"
Khalid said Pua would be investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code.
On 26 March, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, while commenting on the case of the 14-year-old Malaysian student killed by police — made a Facebook post — in which he called IGP Khalid a "thug"
In response to Pua, the country's top cop on Sunday tweeted that Pua was "purposely twisting the facts" with the aim to "confuse the rakyat. Call this person in for investigation," the IGP ordered PDRM.
According to the Malay Mail Online, the police are investigating Tony Pua for intentional insult intending to breach public peace
Khalid told Malay Mail Online that Pua, who is Petaling Jaya Utara MP, that the opposition MP would be investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code that imposes imprisonment for up to two years, or a fine, or both, for the offence of intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of public peace.
“504 Penal Code,” Khalid said in a brief message to the Malay Mail Online.
