Man Who Stole Chocolates And Lozenges From A Convenience Store Has Been Sentenced To Jail
The man, who is unemployed, committed the offence on Monday, 18 June.
A man has been sentenced to jail one day after he stole throat lozenges and chocolates from a convenience store in Kuala Lumpur
It was reported that Nor Zaidi Nong committed the offence at Hospimart Shoppe, which is located on the lower ground level of the old Hospital Kuala Lumpur building, on 18 June.
He was arrested on the same day.
The accused, Nor Zaidi Nong, pleaded guilty to stealing 15 packets of Strepsils, 16 packets of Fisherman's Friend lozenges, and 41 packets of chocolates worth RM304.

Nor Zaidi was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code. The charge carries a maximum jail term of 10 years and liable to a fine, upon conviction.
According to a report by Bernama, Magistrate Wong Chai Sia meted out the sentence after Nor Zaidi pleaded guilty to the charge and ordered him to serve the jail term from the date of his arrest on 18 June.
It was learned that Nor Zaidi had pleaded for leniency in mitigation earlier
Harian Metro reported that Nor Zaidi, who was unrepresented, had apologised for his actions earlier and pleaded for a lighter sentence.
However, deputy public prosecutor K. Vasugi urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence on the accused, which could serve as a lesson.
