Temperatures Drop As Low As 23°C And KLites Are Loving It
Malaysians living in the Klang Valley have been experiencing unusually cool weather in the past week
Instead of the usual Malaysian heat, the weather in the last week has been chilly and refreshing, with temperatures even going as low as 23°C in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday morning, 19 August.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), this is because the country is going through the Southwest Monsoon season
The agency predicts that this cool and rainy weather is going to last until the middle of September.
As for this upcoming week, METMalaysia forecasts that Kuala Lumpur will continue to see temperatures as low as 24°C, with only isolated thunderstorms occurring in the afternoon.
It's a respite from the typical blazing heat, and Malaysians are definitely embracing the sweater weather
"Tonight really brings the Cameron [Highlands] experience home. The damp cold air, the night breeze, the rain, the cold floor to your feet's touch, the icy cold water," said a Twitter user.
"It's so cold this morning, it's even relaxing to go out jogging at 9am," said another user.
