Lim Guan Eng: Pakatan Harapan's GE14 Win Is As Symbolic As Reunifying Germany
He was explaining the impact of the 14th General Election to the German ambassador to Malaysia.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said yesterday, 13 June, that the rise of a new Malaysia can be compared to the fall of the Berlin Wall back in 1989
In a Facebook post, he wrote that using the fall of the Berlin Wall as an analogy was the best way to "explain to our German friends who do not understand why (Prime Minister Tun) Dr. Mahathir Mohamad returned as our new Prime Minister".
Guan Eng met with the German ambassador to Malaysia, Nikolaus Graf Lambsdorff in the Ministry Of Finance office yesterday, 13 June.
The Finance Minister added that there were also "fruitful discussions" on expanding German vocational education in Malaysia.
According to Bernama, Guan Eng added that Pakatan Harapan's win signified a new chapter in Malaysia's history
"A new Malaysia signified a new chapter in Malaysia's history when Pakatan Harapan (PH), led by Dr. Mahathir, won the 14th General Election on 9 May," he was quoted as saying by Bernama.
"The stunning victory recorded by PH ended over 60 years of uninterrupted rule by Barisan Nasional," he added.
The historic fall of the Berlin Wall was a critical step to the reunification of Germany in 1990
In November 1989, the Berlin Wall was breached for the first time between East and West Germany.

To this day, it remains the symbol of a successful and peaceful revolution in Europe.
