In the video, Lim, his wife Betty Chew, and their son can be seen enjoying their casual lunch at a crowded food court.

At the time of writing, the Facebook video has garnered over 5,000 shares and 386,000 views.

When asked where he has his meals now that he holds the Finance portfolio, Lim answered, "The food we eat, hawker stall lah. Where the food is the best, it's the hawker stalls or alleyways"

"Of course I will still be eating char kuey teow by the roadside and the best chicken rice, whether you like it or not, is still in the hawker stalls. Not in the restaurants, not in the hotels," he told Malay Mail on Friday, 1 June.

Commenting on DAP's newfound position of power as part of the Pakatan Harapan government coalition, Lim admitted that the party members are "still trying to get acclimatised"

However, he said that, "In essence, our culture, our values will remain working class."

"We are not a businessmen’s party. We are not a towkay party," said the DAP secretary, according to Malay Mail.
