Loke: MyDigital ID Integration With MyJPJ On 10 October Scrapped
Transport Minister Anthony Loke assured users that they can continue using the MyJPJ app as usual.
In an update, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the requirement for users to sign up for a MyDigital ID to log into the MyJPJ app by 10 October has been scrapped
According to Bernama, Loke assured users that they can continue logging in and using the MyJPJ app as usual.
"The public need not worry that after 10 October, they will not be able to use MyJPJ. The application will continue to be accessible easily and quickly," he said.
Loke clarified that the previous instructions regarding the requirement of MyDigital ID to sign in to MyJPJ were issued through a pop-up announcement in the application
He said these instructions were not an official announcement by the Transport Ministry or the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and have since been taken down.
"The information provided through the MyJPJ pop-up may [have misled] the public and caused confusion.
"I [saw] a lot of comments on social media expressing concern and providing feedback regarding the information," he said, adding that the decision to scrap the requirement was made following the complaints.
However, Loke said the ministry still supports the use of MyDigital ID, which was introduced last year as a single verification system for all Malaysians
He assured the public that the integration process of the national digital identification system with the MyJPJ app will now be conducted on a back-end basis to avoid inconveniencing users.
"We have held discussions and reached an agreement that the use of MyDigital ID for logging into the MyJPJ application should be implemented seamlessly.
"This is to ensure that MyJPJ users do not face any problems, and we will take some time for back-end integration," he said, adding that MyJPJ has over 10.5 million users.
