About one tonne of durian was left scattered on the highway in Nilai when a lorry carrying the king of fruits flipped sideways yesterday, 23 June

According to Harian Metro, the incident took place at KM 279.9 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) headed north.

Nilai district police chief Supt Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said that around 1.55pm, the lorry carrying the durians skidded and overturned.

In the lorry, there was a 25-year-old driver and a 52-year-old attendant.

The two were headed to Kuala Lumpur from Segamat.

Mohd Fazley explained to the Malay daily that the man is believed to have lost control of the vehicle after its rear left tyre burst.

"The lorry skidded before it overturned on the left side of the expressway," he added.

The men sustained minor injuries to their bodies

The case is being investigated by the Bukit Aman Highway Investigation Unit according to Rule 10 LN 166/59.
