Tun M Says He Doesn't Know If Agong Did Marry A Russian Beauty Queen In Moscow
"I don’t know. I don’t have any official confirmation."
Turns out Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is not aware about Yang di-Pertuan Agong Muhammad V's marriage in Moscow
Earlier today, 28 November, Dr Mahathir was approached at the Parliament lobby by media asking to comment on news reports that have gone viral on the marriage of the Agong to former Russian beauty queen Oksana Voevodina in Moscow last week.
"I don't know. I don't have any official confirmation, so I can't say anything," he said.
Reports of the Agong getting married to a former Russian beauty queen went viral after photos of their wedding spread online
Local news sites had cited Islam News, a Russian Islamic Media Agency, saying the wedding ceremony took place on 22 November in a concert hall in the Russian capital.
The reports said that the 49-year-old Yang di-Pertuan Agong married Oksana after the 25-year-old beauty queen reportedly converted to Islam earlier this year.
Oksana, whose Muslim name is Rihana Oxana Gorbatenko, reportedly met with the Agong 18 months ago when the former Russian beauty queen was promoting elite watches in Europe
According to Daily Mail, which cited a beauty contest director called Tatiana Andreeva, the pair met in Europe while the Russian beauty queen was promoting elite watches.
"Oksana is a model. She worked a lot abroad, so an encounter of such a level is quite predictable. She met Muhammad 18 months ago in Europe.
"Oksana worked at a watch display and she was standing by a poster and advertising the goods," Tatiana was quoted as saying by Daily Mail, adding that Oksana's parents, who were present at the wedding in Moscow, "support their daughter in everything."
