Malaysia today, 7 January, recorded 3,027 new COVID-19 cases

This is the first time the country has breached the 3,000 mark for new COVID-19 cases recorded in a day since the novel coronavirus first hit our shores in January last year.

The country also recorded eight new deaths in the last 24 hours
