Cyber Crime in Malaysia: RM1 Billion Lost by Conned Victims
Malaysia is worse than Mexico in cyber crime. According to Sophos Security Threat Report 2013, Malaysia is the sixth most vulnerable to cyber crime. Listed among the 10 riskiest countries, Malaysia is also reported to be highly exposed to Android PC and devices malware attacks. RM1 billion lost by victims of cyber crime
Out of the RM1 billion in losses from cyber crime in the first six months of this year, 9,857 cases were reported with 7,801 of these solved and 3,385 people detained. Last year, the losses amounted to RM1.115 billion with 8,920 of the 11,543 reported cases solved and 3,712 people arrested.
