Malaysian Universities NOT in TOP 400 World University Ranking
For the second consecutive year, Malaysia once again fail to enter the Top 400 spot of Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking 2012-2013. Times Higher Education (THE), is a world reputable body that rates universities worldwide based on several factors such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international outlook & more. Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2012-2013, for a 2nd consecutive year, not a single Malaysian university is included in its 400 Top World University rankings.

According to Times Higher Education, the universities were judged according to 13 performance indicators from five areas – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

A total of 81 Asian-Pacific Universities made it into the THE 400 Top World University Ranking, but not a single one from Malaysia.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who recently claimed that Malaysia has one of the best education systems in the world – better than United States, Britain and Germany.
Minister of Higher Education Khaled Nording said that the absence of the country’s universities in the Times rankings was due to their recent venture into research.
