Driver Plunges To His Death After Stepping On The Accelerator Instead Of Brakes

A 52-year-old man plunged to his death after the car he was driving in fell from the third floor of Pelangi Indah Condominium in Kuala Lumpur

The deceased, Ong Bang Hin, lost control of his Toyota Innova when he was reversing out of the parking lot on the third floor

In the incident that happened on Wednesday, 15 February, the driver had mistaken the accelerator pedal to be the brakes which caused his vehicle to crash over the car park wall.

Chinese daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that the man was pronounced dead by the paramedic on scene.

A City Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said that the impact of collision was so great that the bonnet of the car was bent out of shape

When the team arrived, they found the victim trapped in the vehicle, which had landed upside down. They then extricated him from the car," the spokesman said as quoted by the News Strait Times.

The case has been handed over to the police for further action.
