The 47-year-old man was out with his friends for some drinks in a food court when the tragic incident happened, as reported by China Press

Sometime later, he went to the washroom. But his friends sensed something was amiss when he did not return and decided to check on him. That was when they found him unconscious on the toilet floor. An ambulance was called but sadly, he was declared dead on the spot.

The man, known by his surname Yang, came from Penang to Johor Bahru in his twenties to work

Yang's 67-year-old mother told the Chinese daily that her son was initially working as a waiter in a restaurant. Due to renovation, the restaurant was closed temporarily so Yang sought employment elsewhere and got a job as a kitchen assistant.

A few months later, the restaurant called him back. Yang said yes and decided to hold on to both jobs. As a result, he worked 13 hours a day.

She has not met up with Yang ever since he took up two jobs

The grief-stricken woman recalled her son complaining to her of being exhausted the last time they talked on the phone. This gave her the suspicion that Yang might've died from exhaustion due to overworking.

Yang also divulged to his mother that he had the thought of resigning from one of the jobs by the end of this year.

Yang, the only son in the family, was healthy and had no major illnesses

The police said that they did not suspect any foul play and has classified it as sudden death.
