A 23-Year-Old In Kedah Suddenly Collapses And Dies While Playing Badminton With Friends
The man had been playing badminton for two hours before his death.
A man in Jitra, Kedah suddenly passed away while playing badminton with his friends
The incident took place on Sunday, 2 February around 11pm. Mohamad Fuad Desa who witnessed the incident wrote about it on Facebook.
He said, "This is the first time in history that I'm witnessing something like this in front of my eyes. It happened at a badminton court in Jitra. A man collapsed while in the middle of playing badminton. Prayers for the man and his family."
It is said that the man took a deep breath before vomiting and falling to the ground
China Press reported that the man has been identified as 23-year-old Mohd Amirul Ikromi.
According to Fuad, someone at the court attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but they were not able to save the man's life.
"The ambulance didn't even make it in time," he added.
Amirul's friends who were there during the incident said that they had been playing badminton for about two hours before taking a quick break to have dinner.
They mentioned that Amirul had a full meal and then they returned to the court for another game of badminton.
The body was taken to the Jitra Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem
Autopsy results found that Amirul died from acute coronary syndrome. More commonly known as a heart attack, it is due to a sudden, reduced blood flow to the heart.
According to The National Centre for Biotechnology Information, this particular condition is most common in the elderly.
