In an incident onboard a Korean Air plane from Bangkok to Seoul, a male passenger attempted to open the emergency exit mid-flight

The incident took place on 7 November, while the Korean Air jetliner was en route to Incheon International Airport in South Korea from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

A viral video captured the moment when the man, standing near the emergency door, grabs the latch, causing alarm among nearby crew members and fellow passengers.

The unruly passenger, who forced himself to a restricted crew-only seat near the emergency exit, was asked to return to his assigned seat but refused, according to the airline.

Instead, he threatened the cabin crew before attempting to open the exit door.

In the nine-second clip, shared widely on social media, the man can be seen standing by the door, holding his phone, and gesturing at several crew members before grabbing the latch.

The footage shows a female flight attendant immediately intervening by putting herself between the unruly passenger and the emergency exit, leading to a scuffle as other crew members and a nearby male passenger help to subdue him.

The airline explained that while the crew had warned him of legal consequences, he continued with his actions, forcing the crew to restrain him

After the crew subdued the passenger, he was moved to a separate area of the plane.

The plane, carrying 238 passengers, continued its route without delay and landed safely at Incheon International Airport, where local police took the man into custody.
