Man Arrested For Kicking Surau Door After He Was Allegedly Annoyed By Loudspeakers' Volume

The police have arrested a 46-year-old man who allegedly kicked down a surau door during Tarawih prayers at a block of flats in Sungai Chua, Kajang
According to Free Malaysia Today, the police took action after receiving a report of the incident, which went viral on social media on Sunday, 9 April.
The accused man was detained to assist in the investigation and was released on bail on Monday, 10 April.
Initial investigations by the Kajang police discovered that the man, who is believed to live in the area near the surau, was disturbed by the loudspeakers' that were blasting at a high volume.
In the five-minute long video, the man can be seen arguing with some people outside the surau
Unfortunately, the man cannot be calmed down and a fight breaks out between him and those who are outside the surau.
Chaos ensued, and the man was chased by the congregation but they failed to catch him.
The last 30 seconds of the video shows the damage that the man allegedly made to the surau door.
At the time of writing, the video has garnered more than 620,000 views on TikTok.
The case is being investigated under Section 295 of the Penal Code for causing damage to a place of worship
If convicted, the suspect could face up to two years in jail, a fine, or both.
The incident is also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for misuse of network facilities, reported Sinar Harian.
If convicted under the provision, the suspect could face up to one year in jail, a RM50,000 fine, or both.
The police have advised the public to refrain from making any speculations about this incident.
