Muhyiddin says it was Pakatan who copied their idea
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin argued that the opposition coalition lacked experience to know that most of its proposed policies on welfare and plans to cut car prices have already been implemented.
He accused Pakatan Rakyat of incorporating existing government policies into their election pledges.
malaysiandigest.comThe Umno deputy president noted that BN was already aiming to reduce price tags on cars under the Asean Free Trade Agreement as well as other free-trade programmes.
Muhyiddin cited another example where PR had pledged to build 150,000 affordable houses. He argued that affordable housing had been a key government policy under his coalition’s rule.
“Copying us shows that BN has finally accepted the fact that Manifesto Rakyat is good, workable and fulfils the people’s wishes,” he said.

“When Barisan criticises us that the Opposition will bankrupt the country with our manifesto, they should be looking at themselves,” DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke said.
PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin said that no target had been set in the Barisan manifesto on the participation of women in national decision- making policies.
PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar said that increasing the 1Malaysia People's Aid would not address the issue of rising living costs.
PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli said that BN's promise to revamp the National Automotive Policy and lowering car prices by 20% to 30% would be meaningless unless the excise duties were abolished.
Ibrahim Suffian, director of independent pollster Merdeka Center, said the steps taken to combat graft were merely “procedural and do not tackle systemic issues”.
“Najib has made a hard sell on his economic track record, but most people don’t feel the 49% increase in income over the past three years he talks about. That’s the disconnect,” he added.
Najib promises more cash for all
The new manifesto themed “A Promise of Hope” offers focused, compelling and concrete pledges that will also spur the country's economic growth.
Najib promised to increase BR1M up to RM1,200 for households and RM600 for singles while maintaining it on an annual basis.

The prime minister also promised to build a million low-cost homes and attract 1.3 trillion ringgit in investment by 2020, creating 3.3 million jobs in the country of 29 million people.
He also intends to increase the number of 1 Malaysia shops; lowering broadband fees by at least 20 per cent; and building 1 million affordable homes within the next five years.
