MATTA Fair Will Donate RM1 To The Tabung Harapan Fund For Every Person Who Visits In Sept
Malindo Air also previously said that they will donate RM1 for each plane ticket sold.
For every person visiting the National MATTA Fair this year, RM1 will be donated to the Tabung Harapan fund by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta)
Chief executive officer (CEO) Phua Tai Neng said in a statement yesterday, 6 June, that the association is pleased to join other Malaysians in donating to the public fund that was created to strengthen the nation's financial situation.
The recently-concluded MATTA fair held in March attracted 106,000 visitors, which brought about RM210 million in sales value
"Matta will continue its role in supporting the government, especially in tourism, which is a key sector in our nation’s economy, being the second highest contributor in terms of foreign exchange earnings, and third in terms of contribution to the gross national income," Phua said according to MalaysiaKini.
The upcoming Matta fair will be held from 7-9 September at the Putra World Trade Centre this year, and is expected to attract 100,000 visitors.
Last week, budget airline Malindo Air also announced a similar initiative to help ease the nation's financial debt
CEO Chandran Rama Muthy said that for every ticket sold, the airline company will contribute RM1 to the Tabung Harapan fund.
The offer is valid for those travelling within Malaysia in the next three months until 31 August.
