Mixue is facing backlash over a job advertisement at its Sri Sinar outlet in Segambut

The listing to hire service crew and a supervisor stated that only Malay and Chinese candidates with experience were eligible to apply.

This has sparked concerns about racial discrimination in hiring practices.

Instagram user @mohaneyyy brought attention to the issue by posting a screenshot of the job listing along with a pointed caption:

"Is this how the world's largest F&B chain operates? Mixue may have become the world's biggest food and beverage chain, but their hiring practices seem to tell a different story!

"So, Indians (and others) can be customers but aren't considered worthy enough to be employees? Why are we being excluded from job opportunities like this? Everyone deserves an equal chance to work, regardless of their race.

"It's 2025, shouldn't we be moving towards inclusivity, not discrimination and partiality?"

The post quickly gained traction online, with many social media users expressing frustration over the issue

Critics argue that racial hiring preferences should have no place in today's job market, especially from a global brand like Mixue, which recently made headlines for outgrowing McDonald's and Starbucks, becoming the largest food and beverage chain in the world in terms of store count.

Many called for accountability, tagging key leaders and urging businesses to embrace diversity and ensure equal employment opportunities for all.

One person alleged that he visited the outlet recently and noticed that the ad has since been removed:
