Motorcycles & Electric Scooters Destroyed In Fire At KLCC Parking Bay
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Nine motorcycles and four electric scooters were destroyed in a fire that broke out at the Suria KLCC parking bay on Thursday, 13 April
In a report by Bernama, the incident took place at around 3.45pm, according to a spokesperson from the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre.
A squad of 15 firefighters and three fire engines from the Jalan Tun Razak and Keramat fire stations were dispatched to the scene.
Aside from the 13 vehicles that were destroyed, four other motorcycles were burned between three and 20%.
No injuries or casualties were reported from the fire, which was brought under control at 4pm.
Beam, the electric scooter company, stated that the fire was not caused by the scooters
According to The Vibes, the company confirmed in a brief statement that upon further investigation, it was found that none of the Beam scooters were the cause of the incident.
The company also stated that the scooters are made of high-quality hardware and durable, aircraft-standard aluminium, and the batteries are installed according to international safety certifications.
The actual cause of the fire and total cost of the damages are still under investigation.
