Gui is alleged to have caused the death of Norain Abu Samah at the Temenggung Ahmad traffic junction in Muar, according to the charge sheet

The accident, which took place at 7.45am, caused the death of the 41-year-old mother, while severely injuring her 19-year-old daughter.

A video of the accident went viral on social media. The video shows the Toyota Hilux ramming over Norain's Myvi in the traffic light junction along Jalan Pintasan Bandar, Muar.

Muar district police chief ACP Zaharudin Rasip had told the New Straits Times that Gui had been driving at high speed and failed to stop at a red light.

"This resulted in him crashing into the Myvi, which was just moving as the traffic light on her side was green," ACP Zaharudin said.

Gui was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code

According to Utusan Malaysia, the case will be re-mentioned on 25 May.
