Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today, 18 October, denied any association with MYAirline after a legal firm representing the former prime minister is also reportedly representing the troubled Malaysian airline

In a strongly worded statement, Muhyiddin sought to clarify his position regarding MYAirline.

According to the statement, the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairperson has no direct connection with the airline or its shareholders, nor does he possess any knowledge about the company's background.

Muhyiddin claimed that certain individuals are attempting to "tarnish his reputation" through baseless allegations, as he called for an end to what he termed as "dirty politics".

"Stop this cheap dirty politics," he said.

The 76-year-old politician pointed out that MYAirline had obtained conditional approval for its air service licence on 22 December 2021

He was in office as the eighth prime minister from 1 March 2020 to 16 August 2021.

Addressing the involvement of the legal firm, Rosli Dahlan Saravana Partnership (RDS), representing him in his defamation suit against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddin stressed that the firm's decision to also represent MYAirline on behalf of the airline's shareholders cannot be linked to him.

"RDS, as a law firm, has the right to represent anyone in need of its legal services," he added.

Meanwhile, the airline's co-founder and majority shareholder, Datuk Allan Goh Hwan Hua, has been remanded for four days:
