12,000 units of Proton Saga SV booked in one month
Bookings for Proton Saga SV, launched by Proton Holdings Bhd only last month, has surpassed 12,000 units, Proton Edar Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Hisham Othman said yesterday.

"I'm very happy. This is a very encouraging figure. The product that Proton produced has fulfilled Malaysians' taste," he told reporters at a breaking-of-fast event with Proton employees.

Hisham said Proton Edar expected the demand for Proton Saga SV to continue to rise as the car provided value for money, with safety features like airbags for front seat passenger even though the price was RM5,000 cheaper than previous Proton Saga models.
On the total number of Proton Saga SV that have been registered, Hisham said the initial target was only 2,000 units a month, but this month alone 5,500 units have been registered.
Good news: Proton says they may produce more Saga SV units per month
The overwhelming response for the new Proton Saga SV may assure National Car maker to increase its production from the current 2,000 units per month.

Proton Edar Chief Executive Officer Hisham Othman said 4,000 units have been pre-ordered following the launch of the new model a week ago.
National car maker Proton may increase production of the Saga SV from the current 2,000 units per month to cater to high demand for the car.
"This is a very positive sign and we are optimistic that this will boost our mission to capture 30 per cent of the domestic market share and subsequently increase Proton's revenue," said Hisham.
